ABOUT US

Hi! We’re Lauren and Emily, and we are two of the first adoptees to be granted reinstatement of our citizenship entirely through a Korean Consular in the United States. During this lengthy and often frustrating process, we wished that more resources were available to help Korean adoptees like us understand and complete the reinstatement process in a more efficient way.

Together, we founded KAD Citizenship Collective, LLC in 2024. Our detailed notes, photos, videos, consultations with adoptee groups and Korean immigration lawyers eventually became known as the KAD Citizenship Reinstatement Guide, created with the goal of helping others navigate this complex process.

OUR MISSION
is to empower Korean adoptees who wish to reclaim their citizenship

OUR VISION
is simple…a place where Korean adoptees can find resources reclaim their citizenship and connect with their heritage.

OUR VALUES
are simplicity, support, and solidarity

We believe in a process that is simple and helpful to any Korean adoptee on a journey to reclaim their citizenship. We desire to create a space where the collective community experiences support in the process. And, our hope is that these resources will build solidarity through the unique story and journey of each Korean adoptee.
